Police Chase Stops In Voorhees
On February 1st around 6pm, District 66 was dispatched to Kresson-Gibbsboro Road and Alton Avenue for a motor vehicle accident.
The accident was the result of a police chase from Lindenwold Township. After the vehicle collided with another car, it subsequently left
the roadway, crashed into a tree, and the vehicle caught fire. The suspect was arrested at the scene and fire was extinguished. No
serious injuries were reported .
Volunteers Respond to Berlin Township
The Voorhees Fire District was dispatched to Berlin Township for  a dwelling fire on January 29, around 630pm. Engine 66-1 responded
with 4 volunteers and assisted Station 22 in suppression and overhaul. Crews remained on scene for several hours while an investigation
was conducted by the Fire Marshall's Office. No injuries were reported.
Voorhees Volunteers Support The Ronald McDonald House

On Saturday October 4, 2008 Deputy Chief Curt Nagle, firefighters Patrick Powers and Parrish Powers took part in supporting the
Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey by attending the 25th Birthday Ball held at Caeser's Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. All
donations from the event will be put toward the new addition and renovations of the house in Camden, NJ. The house is instrumental in
providing a place of comfort for families to stay while their critically ill children receive lifesaving medical care so far from home.

Volunteers Decorates For The Holiday Season

The Volunteers worked hard last Saturday to decorate station 663 in a festive style for the upcoming holiday. After several hours of hard
work and great frustration over numerous strands of burnt-out Christmas lights, the task was completed. The Voorhees Fire Volunteers
would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
Sunday Afternoon MVA

On Sunday December 14th, Stations 663, 662, BLS 6697, and Medic 41 were dispatched to Red Oak drive in the Lost Tree section of
Voorhees for a motor vehicle accident. BLS 6697 and Battalion 6603 arrived on location and reported a single-car accident with a
vehicle into a tree. The patient was packaged and transported to Virtua Voorhees Hospital for treatment while the crew from Rescue 663
secured the vehicle’s battery. It is believed that the occupant lost consciousness  while driving ,which in turn caused him to lose control of
his vehicle. No other injuries were reported and an accident investigation is pending by Voorhees Township Police.

Voorhees Fire Volunteers is an organization dedicated to providing quality Fire Suppression and
Emergency Medical Care. The Voorhees Fire Company operates out of 2 Fire Stations, Station 662
(West Side) located at 2002 Burnt Mill rd. Station 663 (East Side) located at 423 Cooper rd. Our staff
is compromised of 42 Volunteer Firefighters 24 hours 7 days a week. The Voorhees Fire Volunteers
are supplemented by 27 Voorhees Fire District Career Firefighters during the daytime hours between
6a-5p Monday thru Friday. The Voorhees Fire Emergency Medical Services is staffed 24 hours 7 days
a week by 8 full time, and 10 part time Emergency Medical Technicians. Voorhees Fire Volunteers are
dedicated to serving the citizens of Voorhees Township . The Voorhees Fire Volunteers also provides
mutual aid to the neighboring communities of Gibbsboro, Evesham Township , Berlin Township, and
Cherry Hill .
New Year’s Day proves to be an Interesting Holiday for the Voorhees Volunteers

On January 1st 2009, District 66 was dispatched to 8000 Main Street to Temple Beth El for an activated fire alarm. Quint 66’s crew
encountered what was initially thought to have been an activated sprinkler-head in addition to a moderate/heavy smoke condition in
classroom 310 of the north hallway. Considering the fact that a live fire condition might exist behind the classroom door, as per protocol,
crews requested the box assignment be filled-out as a precaution. After entry was made into the classroom, it was discovered that the
conditions  were caused by a burst steam pipe and not a working fire. Crews were quickly placed back in-service while Engine 662 and
Quint 66 cleaned up after the incident.  
Vehicle vs. Building
On February 13th around 7pm, District 66 was dispatched to White Horse Road for a reported vehicle that crashed into a Mattress Store.
No serious injuries were reported .
Volunteers Respond to Brush

On April 19th around 5:30 pm, District 66 was dispatched to 4 Whispering Pines lane for a reported brush fire along side of the Dwelling.
Battalion 6603 arrived on location with a 10' x 15' slow moving brush fire. Brush 66 went to work and had the fire contained within
minutes. C11 and C11A of the NJ Forestry Fire Service were also on location.
MVA closes north and southbound lanes of Route 73

On Monday April 27th around 19:30 hours, District 66 was dispatched to Route 73 and Lakevilla Drive for a motor vehicle accident
involving multiple vehicles with entrapment. Battalion 66 arrived on location and confirmed a two-car MVA with one patient entrapped and
advised County Communications of numerous primary power lines across the highway as well as several transformers. Crews from
Rescue 66, Squad 66, Engine 66-1 and Quint 66 successfully extricated the victim and assisted the BLS and Medic units in packaging
the patient for transport. Route 73 was shut down for several hours while Voorhees Police conducted an investigation and the necessary
repairs were made to the utility lines.
Quint 66 responds to Berlin Township's Court House for a structure fire

On Monday May 4th around 12:45 AM, Task Force 22 was dispatched for a structure fire across from 159 Arch Street.  2200 arrived on
location and reported a  40 foot trailer, that served as a temporary court house for the township, fully involved.  Master streams were
subsequently placed in service and the incident was placed under control within 15 minutes. Quint 66 as well as units from Berlin Borough
and Waterford Township were also on scene assisting the crews. The fire is currently under investigation by the Camden County Fire
Marshall's Office.
Rescue 66 Extricates Victim of a Motor Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday July 7th around 1900 hours, District 66 was dispatched to Evesham and Cooper Road for a motor vehicle accident. BLS
6697, Rescue 663, and Battalion 66 arrived on location and reported a two-car MVA with one patient entrapped. Rescue 663 utilized
their hydraulic tools to extricate the patient and then proceeded to assist the BLS crew in packaging the patient for transport. The
extrication was completed in approximately ten minutes and the patient was transported to Cooper Trauma Center.
Downed Traffic Light Snarls Traffic in Voorhees Township

On Monday July 6th, District 66 was dispatched to Evesham and Red Oak Drive for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Battalion 66
reported a single-car MVA involving a traffic light standard. Rescue 66's crew successfully removed the debris from the roadway and
reopened Evesham Road. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Volunteers Congratulate Honorary Firefighter

On Saturday September 5th, The Voorhees Fire Volunteers made 9 year old Ashawn Brewer a Honorary Firefighter.
