First Phase of Ice Rescue Training a Success!

With over than 20 bodies of water in Voorhees, the district decided to start an Ice Rescue program to better assist the
community if they were to fall in.  Lifeguard Systems out of Hurley, NY, came down and taught us a 14 Hour
certification class on surface Ice Rescue. The Class consisted of 2 days, one in the classroom and one on the bitter
cold Sturbrige Lake to proform practical drills on the ice. Voorhees will join the few in Camden County that have
training in this field.
Voorhees Volunteers Drill on Firefighter Safety and Survival Techniques

On Saturday April 19th, the Voorhees Volunteers participated in a Firefighter Safety and Survival Course courtesy of
the Camden County Fire Academy. The Instructors from the Academy simulated emergency-like conditions at a local
abandoned structure to train firefighters on how to escape rapidly deteriorating fire conditions. The Voorhees
Volunteers would like to thank the Instructors of the CCFA for providing this invaluable training course.
