Dwelling- 3 Bradford Way 4/3/06

Voorhees Task Force 663 was dispatched to 53 Bradford Way for a reported dwelling fire. 66304
signed on radio along with BLS unit 6697 and engine 6631; Camden County Communications stated
that police were on location with smoke showing. Seconds later Camden County Communications
advised responding units that police were reporting the fire is through the roof. 66304 requested the
all hands until he got on location.



66304 arrived on location reporting a 2 story wood frame, with fire through the roof of a two car
garage. Police were also reporting two vehicles in the garage, and several small explosions. Engine
6631 was ordered to lay in and lead off with a 2 ½ inch line. Rescue 6636 arrived and was ordered to
stretch a 1¾ inch line and protect the exposure residence on the division D side of the fire building.
Rescue 2225 arrived and was utilized as a truck company. Engine 6632 arrived on location, and was
ordered to protect the heating oil storage tank on the division C, D corner.



Ladder 2235 arrived on location and was utilized as the fast truck. Engine 6811 was told to stand fast
at the 2nd due hydrant, until Ladder 6624 arrived and set up for aerial operations. Engine 6812’s
crew stood by in the manpower pool. Crews operated on the second floor interior and division A
garage area knocking down the heavy fire. Crews were ordered out of the residence due to extreme
fire conditions, and Ladder 6624's main was placed into service to knock down the fire so interior
crews could continue their operations. The fire was placed under control shortly after. Hazmat 13 was
requested for a chemical reaction in the garage after the fire. Hazmat crews found nothing significant
in nature and diluted the chemicals with copious amounts of water

Motor Vehicle Rescue 3/28/06


District 66 was dispatched to Route 73 and Kresson Road for a report of a motor vehicle
accident - rescue assignment. Units responding were advised by Camden County
Communications of a reported vehicle overturned with entrapment.
BLS 6697 and Rescue 663 arrived on location reporting one vehicle overturned with one
victim entrapped. Placing SouthStar Aeromedical on standby on the pad at Virtua Voorhees,
Rescue 663 went into service with Res-Q Jacks.
ALS 41, Squad 662 and BLS 6687 arrived on location. Squad 662 was ordered to pull a
1.75-inch line for protection, and the rest of the crew were to assist with the rescue.
Both BLS units, along with ALS 41, gained access to the victim to assess his injuries. Due to
the nature of the injuries SouthStar was cancelled.
Rescue crews utilized Hurst spreaders, o-cutters and a reciprocating saw to extricate the
victim in under 30 minutes.
The patient was transported to Virtua Voorhees via Squad 6697 and Medic 41 with a couple
of contusions and a broken clavicle.

Dwelling Fire 5 Stonehurst Rd 3/5/06

Task Force 66-3 (consisting of stations 66-3, 66-2 and 68-1, squads 66-9, 66-8, and Ladder
22-3) were dispatched fpr a report of a structure fire.

Squad 6697 arrived on location first, reporting a 2-story, wood-frame with heavy fire showing
from a window on the second floor of division D.

Arriving shortly afterward to confirm the report was 66301.  

Engine 6631 was ordered to lay in and stretch a 1.75-inch handline to the second floor. In a
matter of minutes, 6631's crew had all visible fire knocked down. Crews then ventilated and
checked for extension. The fire was placed under control at 8:22 p.m.  

Engines 6632 and 6811, and Ladder 6624 assisted with salvage and overhaul.  

Evesham's Ladder 2235 stood by as the RIT assignment. Additional crews helped wrap up
the 5-inch supply line.  

E6631 remained on location to provide tools and lighting for the investigation. CFM-9 (County
Fire Marshal) and Voorhees Township police detectives have not determined the cause of the
fire yet.  

Crews were clear from the incident at 11:33 p.m.

Structure Fire- 102 Long Lane 8/6/06


At 0258 hours Task Force 662 was dispatched to 102 Long Lane for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival Command
reported a 12x12 shed fully involved with 2 LP gas cylinders already discharging through their relief valves. Squad 662
lead off with an 1-3/4 inch hand line quickly knocking the bulk of the fire down. The shed was a complete loss. There
was some damage to the neighbors shed and the due to radiant heat, and there was damage to the siding and deck of
the dwelling that the shed was to the rear of. Command held with Squad 662, Engine 6631, and Rescue 663 for
overhaul. Cause of the fire is still under investigation with the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.
Condominium Fire- 3206 Jennifer Court 8/2/06



Task Force 662 was dispatched at 0542 hours to 3206 Jennifer Court, La Bon Vie Condominiums for a reported
dwelling fire. Upon arrival Command was reporting a medium smoke condition division A on the roof/chimney area.
Voorhees Police reported directly to Command that the heaviest concentration of smoke was on the 2nd floor, and that
all occupants in the building have been evacuated. Squad 662 was ordered to come in and hand stretch their supply
line (a short distance) to the hydrant on the A/B corner of the fire building, and to lead off with an 1-3/4inch hand line
to the 2nd floor. Engine 6811 was ordered to standby the hydrant and send manpower forward for a primary search.
Command special called Cherry Hill Ladder 1344, and ordered Engine 6631 to stretch an 1-3/4inch hand line to the
exposure apartment on the 2nd floor. Ladder 1344 was given orders to open the roof up in the area of the chimney.
Interior crews reported that the fire was extinguished and primary searches were negative. A man power pool was set
up next to Command for salvage and overhaul. Rehab 1385 was requested for refreshments being that it was in the
mid 80's at that time in the morning. Cause of the fire is undetermined, and is under investigation with the Camden
County Fire Marshals Office
Townhouse fire- 26 Alyce Lane 7/27/06


At 2345 hours as a fast moving thunderstorm was passing through, Voorhees firefighters were alerted to 32 Alyce Lane
For a reported alarm sounding.  Crews were already in the same development investigating a CO alarm with negative
results. After crews were clear from the CO call they were redirected to 32 Alyce Lane for the alarm system. Crews had
negative results at 32 Alyce Lane. Upon completing their investigation crews noticed smoke coming from roof of 26
Alyce Lane ( an end of the row townhouse) Command filled the box summoning Task Force 663. Crews made access
and evacuated the homeowner who was not aware of the fire. Squad 662 along with Engine 6632 took an 1-3/4inch
hand line to division 2 and opened the C side exterior wall which was the source of the fire and extinguished all visible
fire. Rescue 222 took and additional 1-3/4inch hand line from Squad 662 to the outside division C, removed the siding
and soffit and extinguished all visible fire.  Rescue 663 took an 1-3/4inch hand line from Engine 6632 to 28 Alyce Lane  
(division B side ) to check for extension. Ladder 662 opened the attic gable vent to check for extension. The fire was
confined to the area of origin in the exterior wall. The cause of the fire was determined to be a lightning strike traveling
up the gas line in the exterior wall and igniting the studding on division 2. All crews wrapped up and were back in
service shortly after.
5 People Pinned In Gibbsboro MVA / Rescue 11/17/06

At 2355 hours BLS 6697, ALS 41, and Station 681 were dispatched to Rt. 561 in the area of Apple Automotive for a motor
vehicle accident. BLS 6697 responded, with Camden County Communications advising that they were upgrading the box to
a rescue. Police were on location reporting a head on collision with 5 pinned in one vehicle. The assignment was upgraded
bringing Rescue 663, Rescue 222, and Squad 662. Additional BLS units were brought in from Berlin, Lindenwold, and
Cherry Hill. The victims were pinned in a small older model Chevy Blazer, crews were able to extricate all the victims in under
20 minutes. All victims were transported to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries, the driver of the other vehicle and
one victim that was pinned in the SUV refused treatment.
3rd alarm in Waterford 8/27/06

On 8/27/06 at 2145 hours Waterford Fire Department Station 232 was dispatched to 276 White Horse Pike (Something special gifts)
for the building. Upon arrival Command reported a 2 story vacant commercial building 100'x75' with fire through the roof. All hands were
operating on the exterior due to unsafe building conditions. Soon after the all hands, a 2nd and 3rd alarms were struck for manpower.
Engine 6631 originally responded to cover Station 222. About five minutes after they arrived at the cover, Engine 6631 was called into
the job. Crews assisted with manpower, and overhaul. The crew operated on scene for a little over an hour. The fire is under
investigation with the Camden County Fire Marshalls Office.

3 Alarm Condo Fire 8/8/06


Task Force 663 was dispatched to 5 masion place  for a reported dwelling fire. Camden County Communications advised responding
units that the caller could see an apartment on fire behind their house, and that they were also receiving the alarm for 2300 Berwyn
court. On duty Battalion Chief 66304 requested that all units be directed to 2300 Berwyn court. Camden County Communications also
advised that they got the manual pull box station for 2300 Berwyn court, and that they were receiving numerous calls now.

Battalion Chief 66304 arrived on location reporting a two story end of the row garden style condo with heavy fire from division C. Engine
6632 was advised that the hydrant would be at division A, along with the stand pipe for that building. Engine 6632 and Rescue 222
were ordered to lead off with 1 1.75 inch and 1 2.5 inch line division C. Police and BLS crews evacuated the exposure side of the 2300
building finding some residents still asleep.

Engine 6632 laid a 5inch line from the second due hydrant at Hermitage drive and Berwyn court. Crews from Engine 6632 and Rescue
222 lead off with 1 1.75 inch and 1 2.5 inch line to division C, Rescue 6636's crew lead off with a 1.75 inch line to the original fire
apartment (2312). Rescue 6636's crew was pushed back due to extreme fire conditions and falling debris in the stair well to the original
fire apartment (2312). Ladder 662 arrived and set up at division A behind Engine 6632 and prepared to go into service with their main.
Engine 6811 stood by at the second due hydrant and supplied Ladder 662. Ladder 2235 (Evesham) was ordered to set up at the A/D
corner and prepare to go into service. 22202 arrived with Rescue 222 and assumed operations. Crews on the exterior division C were
met with a heavy fire condition on the second floor and reported that it was spreading rapidly along the peak and the eves of the roof.
Engine 6632 was then ordered to utilize their deck gun until Ladder 662 went into operation. 66301 and 66202 arrived and secured the
Gas and power to the 2300 building until utilities arrived on location. A manpower pool was ordered to the front of Engine 6632. Ladder
662 went into operation with their main. Engine 6632 was then ordered to cease operations with their deck gun.

Division C crews consisting of Engine 6632, Rescue 222, and Rescue 663 along with Ladder 662 main in service, knocked down the
heavy fire conditions. Engine 6812 and Ladder 2235 (Evesham) were ordered to check for extension in the exposure apartments.
Command placed the fire under control at 0016 hours. Additional companies were called in for manpower, salvage, and overhaul.
Emergency Management, Red Cross, and Rehab 1385 were requested to respond. 29 residents were displaced due fire, smoke, and
water damage to the building.

Virtua's NICU Reunion Day

On Sunday September 24. 2006 Engine 6632, Brush 663, and Support Unit 6638 went to the Virtua Hospital Campus for a public
relations assignment. It was Virtua's NICU Reunion, all employees and patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit come together and
enjoy light refreshments, music, dancing, and giveaways. Engine 6632, Brush 663, and Support Unit 6638 were on display for all to learn
and enjoy.  Junior Firefighter Tim Carty did a well job teaching the children about the tools and S.C.B.A. While at the event  the firefighters
made some new friends.
Brownie Troop visits station 3 9/22/06

Brownie Troop 855 came by Friday night to take a tour of the fire apparatus and learn some information on fire safety.  The Brownies
learned about different equipment used for fighting fires, such as S.C.B.A. and the Thermal Imaging Camera. They also earned a merit
badge by learning how to tell if someone is choking, and what to do if they are. The night ended with a short Fire Truck ride and spraying
the hose off of the bush truck.
 
MVA Rescue Assignment 10/23/06

At 2025 hours Squad 662, Rescue 663, BLS 6687, and ALS 41 were dispatched to Echelon & Somerdale Rds. for a reported Motor
Vehicle Accident Rescue Assignment. 66201 Responded, with Camden County Communications reporting a two car MVA with a
Voorhees Township Police cruiser involved. The Officer called into Voorhees Police Dispatch (District 1) reporting that he was involved in
a MVA, and was pinned in his cruiser. 66201, and BLS 6687 arrived reporting the same. Crews from Squad 662, Rescue 663, and
Engine 6631 stabilized the cruiser and proceeded to remove the drivers door. BLS 6687, and ALS 41 treated the officer and transported
him to Cooper Trauma with non-life threatening injuries. BLS 6697 was requested to transport the other driver and a passenger to Virtua
Voorhees for observation. The Police cruiser was broad sided on the drivers door by the other vehicle. Voorhees Township Police are
investigating the cause of the accident.

2 Alarm Dwelling Fire 11/2/06

On Thursday morning 11/2/06 0659 hours, Task Force 662 was dispatched to 131 Franklin Drive for a reported dwelling fire. Responding units were
advised that Police were on location with a working fire. Responding units also noticed a heavy column of smoke a ways out. Once on location 6620
reported a 2 1/2 story wood frame dwelling with heavy fire divisions C&D, requesting the all hands be struck. Squad 662 arrived on location an initiated
the fire attack from the interior.  Squad 6 ( Cherry Hill ) arrived and assisted with the initial attack. Due to heavy smoke and extreme fire conditions, an
emergency evacuation was ordered. Crews then knocked the fire down from the exterior divisions C&D utilizing 2 ½ inch hand line. After the fire was
knocked down, crews re-entered the dwelling to extinguish any remaining pockets of fire. Crews also extinguished fire in the attic area division B
exposure, that slipped past a block fire wall. All units cleared the scene at 1308 hours.

Building Fire 10/22/06

Task Force 663 was dispatched to 479 Centennial Blvd. for a reported building fire. 66304 signed on responding with Camden County
Communications advising that they were recieving numerous phone calls. Communications also advised that they were getting calls that it
was on Centennial, on the hill, by that time 66304 was approaching Cooper Rd. & Centennial Blvd. With a large colum of smoke and
requesting the all hands be struck. 66304 arrived on location reporting a 2 1/2 story structure fully involved, with a bridge attached to it on
both ends also on fire. Command requested 22202 to spot a hydrant on the way in. Engine 6631 was ordered to come in and dump their
tank water until a sufficient water supply was established. Command then requested New Jersey Forestry units due to embers floating in to
a heavily wooded area backed up by a housing developement. Engine 6631 arrived with Rescue 222 not far behind, they lead off with 2
1/34" hand lines and a 2 1/2" hand line. 22202 advised Command that the nearest hydrant was at Cooper & Centennial about 3000 ft
away from the fireground. 22202 assumed water supply, and requested additional Engine Companies to complete the relay consisting of
Engine 6811 (Gibbsboro), Engine 2221 (West Berlin), Engine 6621 Voorhees), and 2211 (Evesham).

Due to a delay in response from N.J. Forestry, special calls were made for Brush units from 663 (Voorhees), 222 (West Berlin), and 611
(Clementon). Ladder 662 arrived and set up at division A. Ladder 2235 (Evesham) originally the fast truck also set up at division A behind
Ladder 662. Squirt 1331 (Cherry Hill) advised Command that they were clearing an assignment right around the corner and asked if they
could assist. Command requested them to respond in and assume the fast team. The water supply was established and crews continued
to contain the fire utilizing hand lines and the master stream from Ladder 662. N.J. Forestry consisting of C-11, C-11A, and C-29, arrived
and were ordered to assist the Brush units on ember patrol in the housing developement and the surrounding wooded area. Command
requested Rehab 1385 (Cherry Hill) to respond. Fire tactics were kept defensive due to the heavy fire load and eminent collapse of the
structure. The fire was placed under control in under 50 minutes.

The structure actually consisted of being a 20'x20' 3 story building with an elevated 30' high platform extending about 50' on divisions B &
D. The property used to be occupied by RCA, and was utilized to test and erect large antena towers such as the one that was on top of the
World Trade Center in New York City.

Unconscious Person 11/10/06

At 1809 hours on Friday 11/10/06. BLS 6697, ALS 41, Engine 6631 and Squad 662 were dispatched to the area of 61 Kresson Gibbsboro Rd. between
Old Egg Harbor and Bradford way for an unconscious person. As units signed on radio, reports were that a subject was riding a motorcycle and struck
a tree. The caller stated that he would be standing by the roadway to direct crews where to go. 6630 arrived on location being waved down at the bike
path off of Kresson Gibbsboro Rd and directed all units to that location. BLS 6697 and Engine 6631 arrived on location and was advised by the caller
that it was a ways down the trail. Due to the reports and the possibility of the incident having limited access, support unit 6638 responded on the initial
dispatch. Crews made patient contact finding an unconscious unresponsive male lying on the bike path next to his motorcycle. Crews assessed the
patient and immediately requested a helicopter. County Communications advised 6630 that the helicopter would be JeffStat with a 10 minute ETA.
County Communications was advised that the Landing Zone would be at Crickett Field in Gibbsboro. Squad 662 along with Station 681 were requested
to set up the LZ. The patient was packaged and transported to BLS 6697 via Support unit 6638. BLS 6697 and ALS 41 transported the patient to the
LZ. It was reported that the motorcycle collided with a bicycle and then struck a tree. The patient was flown to Cooper Trauma listed in critical condition.
Heavy rains pass through the area 11/12/06

During heavy rains on Sunday 11/12/06 1629 hours, Squad 662, Rescue 663, BLS 6687, and ALS 41 were dispatched to 1401 Laurel Oak Rd. in front
of Eastern Regional High School For a reported MVA Rescue assignment. 6620 arrived on location reporting the accident to be at the intersection of Rt
561 & Laurel Oak Rds. with one vehicle into a utility pole, reporting no entrapment. Due to the vehicle hitting the pole it affected the immediate area,
knocking power out sending companies out to 1001 Laurel Oak Rd. for a reported fire alarm sounding. While investigating at that location crews were
dispatched to 4 Festival Dr. for a reported CO alarm crews at that location reported a faulty battery in the detector. All crews were back in service
clearing all three calls within an hour.
Building Fire- Binder Machine Shop 1-22-07

Around 1700 hrs Task force 663 was dispatched to 145 route 73 for a building fire at Binder Machinery. Upon Arrival 6630 found a group of
connected garages approx. 40 x 200 ft. Heavy Fire was showing  threw the roof on the end unit, division AD corner, approx 40 x 100 ft. Welding and
cutting tanks exploded and caused a section of the rood to collapse. Defensive fire attack was utilized to control and extinguish the fire. The cause of
the fire is still unknown at this time. Route 73 was shut down due to a water supply. No Injuries were Reported

MVA Kresson Rd. & Centennial Blvd. 3/3/07

At 0229 hours Quint 663, Squad 662, and BLS 669 were dispatched to Kresson Rd. & Centennial Blvd. for a reported MVA, vehicle into
a pole. BLS 669, 66301 (Nagle), and Quint 663 arrived on location with one vehicle into a pole. After a quick assessment by BLS and
Command, only minor injuries were sustained in the MVA. Command held with Quint 663 to assist BLS with packaging the patient,
securing the power to the vehicle, and controlling fluids on the roadway. Crews were clear at 0253 hours.

MVA with entrapment Evesham Rd. & Route 561 3/4/07

On 3/04/07 at 1211 hours, BLS 668 was already on location with a three car MVA at Rt. 561 & Evesham Rd. requesting the box to be
filled for a door pop. Camden County Communications upgraded the assignment dispatching Squad 662, and Rescue 663. 66202
(Lauletta) arrived and confirmed one victim entrapped, upon arrival companies to do a door pop with the spreaders. Squad 662 arrived
shortly after stabilized the vehicle, and went into operation with the spreaders removing the door from the vehicle. Rescue 663 arrived and
assisted in the operation. Additional crews secured power to all three vehicles and controlled fluids on the highway. Even though an
extrication was performed, there were no injuries sustained from the MVA. Crews cleared scene and were back in service at 1247 hours.

1000 Main Street Vehicle Fire 2/26/06

At 1920 hours on 2/26/07 Task Force 663 was dispatched to 1000 Main Street for the building. 66301 (Nagle) responded with Camden
County Communications advising that a vehicle was on fire on the top floor of the parking garage for the 1000 Building. 66301 (Nagle)
arrived confirming a minivan fully involved on the top level of the parking garage. Engine 6631’s crew and Brush 663 made access to the
top floor of the garage and went into operation utilizing Brush 663 to extinguish the fire. Engine 6631, and Squad 662 secured a water
supply if needed. All other units were staged at the entrance of the parking garage at ground level. Command requested a CFM and
placed the fire under control, holding District 66 units only. CFM 16 arrived and Command held with Brush 663 for the investigation. The
last unit cleared the scene at 2013 hours. The fire is still under investigation with the Camden County Fire Marshal’s Office.

MVA Results in Rescue at Whitehorse Rd. & Echelon Rd.

3/11/2007 at 1128 hours, BLS 668 and ALS 41 were dispatched to Whitehorse Rd. & Echelon Rd. for a reported MVA. Upon arrival BLS
6687 was confronted with a three car MVA with one person pinned. BLS 6687 then requested the Rescue box be filled for a door pop.
SouthStar was placed on standby at their pad at Virtua Voorhees to fly a patient with possible life threatening injuries. 66202 (Lauletta)
arrived on location confirming a three car MVA with one person pinned. Squad 662 arrived stabilized the vehicle and prepared to go into
operation with the Hurst tools. Rescue 663 was ordered to position themselves to go into operation with their winch, to remove an SUV
that was prohibiting crews from accessing the confined patient. The crew from Rescue 663 removed the SUV utilizing their winch, and the
crew from Squad 662 went into operation removing the passenger door for better access for BLS and ALS. After a better assessment of
the patient, BLS and ALS transported the patient to SouthStar waiting at their pad at Virtua Voorhees. The patient was flown to Cooper
Trauma for evaluation. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital via STAT Medical Transportation with non-life threatening
injuries. The driver of the pickup refused medical attention. Crews from Squad 662 and Rescue 663 then contained the fluids on the
roadway and cleared shortly after.
