Reported Smoke from the Garage- 27 Country Lane

3/18/2007 at 1409 hours, Task Force 662 were dispatched to 27 Country Lane for reported smoke coming out of the garage . Upon
arrival 66201 had a trash can burning in the front yard. Squad 662 arrived on location and extinguished the fire with their bumper line. The
trash can was inside the garage but the homeowner removed it prior to the Fire Department's arrival.  6620 held with District 66, he also
asked CFM 10 to respond out. The cause of the fire was believed to have been caused by the family's son cleaning the ashes from the
fireplace earlier in the day.  Crews assisted the FM and were back in service at 1447 hours.

Car vs. Fire Hydrant MVA 4/14/07

On April 14, 2007 at approximately 1700 hrs. Engine 663, Engine 662 and BLS 669 were dispatched to 60 Main Street for a reported
brush fire. BLS 669 and Brush 663 responded with Camden County Communications reporting a mulch fire up against the building. BLS
669 and Brush 663 arrived along with Battalion 663 (Herman) reporting a mulch fire in a flower garden attached to the building. Brush 663
handled the assignment and extinguished the mulch fire.

While crews were restoring the Brush unit back in station. BLS 669 and ALS 41 were dispatched to Kresson Rd. & School La. For a
reported MVC both units signed on with County Communications reporting several calls from passing motorists stating it looked serious
in nature. BLS 669 arrived shortly after reporting a vehicle into a hydrant and the injuries not to be serious in nature. ALS 41 was recalled,
Rescue 663 and Squad 662 were called out to secure the power to the vehicle and control any fluids on the ground. Battalion 663
(Herman) arrived and handled with himself and Rescue 663. Crews cleared shortly after.

Race Way Car wash building fire

May 2, 2007 at 0506 hrs. Task Force 662 was dispatched to the car wash on Burnt Mill and White Horse Rd. for a building fire. Deputy
662 (McCloskey) responded shortly after the dispatch and Camden County Communications stated that a passerby reported fire
showing from the roof of the car wash across from the Sears outlet store. Deputy 662 (McCloskey) immediately amended the address to
the Race Way car wash at Burnt Mill and Somerdale Rd. next to the old Ashland Fire House.

Upon arrival Deputy 662 (McCloskey) reported a single story commercial car wash building with fire through the roof division B striking
the all hands box. Squad 662 arrived and took the hydrant division A on Burnt Mill Rd. Ladder 662 arrived, set up on the division D side of
the building and prepared to go into service. Squad 13 and Engine 6811 arrived and was ordered to gain entry and assist with
extinguishment of the fire. Quint 663 arrived and was ordered to set up on division A.

Crews gained access to the building and were ordered not to enter due to construction going on in the interior of the building. Crews
ventilated and extinguished the fire in under 30 minutes. During the peak of the fire BLS and ALS went into operation with a Firefighter
down with an unknown medical emergency. Crews checked for extension and conducted overhaul. The downed Firefighter was
transported to a local hospital and released shortly after. The fire is under investigation with the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.

SUV vs. Motorcycle results in one entrapped on Rt. 73


On May 2, 2007 BLS 669 was dispatched to Rt. 73 North Bound in front of the Library II Restaurant for a MVC. County Communications
advised BLS 669 that it was a vehicle versus a motorcycle. BLS 669 arrived shortly after confirming the same report and requested the
assignment be upgraded for one patient heavily entrapped. Rescue 663, Squad 662 BLS 668, BLS 21 and ALS 41 were dispatched
along with South Star being placed on standby.

Deputy 663 (Nagle) arrived and confirmed one patient heavily entrapped in the passenger seat of an SUV. Rescue 663 arrived stabilized
and went into operation with the Hurst spreaders and O-Cutters removing the passenger door to gain access to the patient. Engine 663
stood fast with a 1 3/4 inch hand line. Squad 662 assisted Rescue 663 and Engine 663 with the operation. While BLS and ALS crews
were assessing the patient they noticed that the patient's leg was pinned into the dash with center console shifter. ALS asked for the
pedal cutter to go into service to remove the shifter. Crews removed the shifter and the patient was extricated from the vehicle,
re-assessed and packaged for transport.

South Star was stood down and both patients were transported to Cooper Trauma by ground for evaluation. Both patients sustained
non-life threatening injuries. Rescue 663 stood by for lighting while Voorhees Police investigated the accident scene. The cause of the
accident is still under investigation with the Voorhees Twp. Police Department. It was confirmed that the SUV flipped several times
coming to a rest on its wheels again.

Propane Gas Leak 5/20/07

On Sunday May 20, 2007 at 1544 hrs. Companies were dispatched to 8 Foxcroft Ct. for a reported gas leak. Deputy 663 (Nagle)
responded, County Communications advised that the resident was reporting a heavy odor of natural gas around the exterior of their
residence. Deputy 663 (Nagle) arrived confirming a heavy odor of gas on the exterior of the residence on division D. The residents were
then evacuated for precaution. Quint 663 arrived, with Deputy 663 (Nagle) advising that there was a 60lb. LPG tank leaking on the
division D side of the residence. Quint 663 lead off with a 1.75" line for protection, while crews attempted to stop the leak. Ladder 662
arrived and Deputy 662 (McCloskey) having experience with LPG tanks secured the leak. Crews operated on scene for about 30 minutes
and cleared.

Busy Night for crews on Sunday 5/20/07

On Sunday May 20, 2007 at 2325 hrs. Companies were dispatched to 1301 Laurel Oak Rd. Summerville at Voorhees (one of our many
nursing homes in town) for a reported alarm system activation. Deputy 662 (McCloskey) signed enroute, County Communications
advised that they were getting an additional assignment for a reported car into a pole in the area of 718 Haddonfield Berlin Rd. (aka Rt.
561) across from Rita's Water Ice with wires and a transformer on top of the car. Deputy 662 (McCloskey) requested Deputy 663 (Nagle)
and Quint 663 to handle the alarm at Summerville, and Squad 662 to respond to the MVA. Deputy 662 (McCloskey) arrived and
confirmed a car into a pole with a transformer through the windshield in the drivers compartment. Ladder 662 with additional manpower
also responded to the MVA. Deputy 663 (Nagle) and Quint 663 investigated the alarm finding it to be the result of overcooking in a
microwave oven and cleared shortly after. Deputy 662 (McCloskey) further assessed the scene and requested Rescue 663 to the scene
for oil dry due to the transformer leaking its contents into the car, on the patient and the roadway. BLS 668 assessed and treated the one
patient (the driver) and transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Deputy 663 (Nagle) Quint 663 and Rescue 663 responded to the MVA for assistance with controlling the hazard on the roadway. Due to
the amount of contents in the transformer Rescue 663 had to return back to Station 663 for more oil dry. The assignment was held with
Squad 662, Quint 663 and Rescue 663. While crews were operating County advised Deputy 662 (McCloskey) that they were getting
another call for a reported car into a pole at Whitehorse Rd. & Evesham Rd. Deputy 663 (Nagle), Deputy 662 (McCloskey) and Quint 663
responded. Upon arrival crews found a Jeep that struck a pole and spun off the roadway, leaving the pole blocking the road. BLS 6687
assessed and treated one patient (the driver) and transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Rescue 663 dropped off
oil dry at the first accident scene and was requested to respond to the second accident scene for oil dry. Crews controlled the hazards on
the roadways of both calls and stood by with lighting for PSE&G to secure both poles. Both accidents are under investigation with the
Voorhees Twp. Police Department. PSE&G crews on the first scene stated that the driver was lucky to be alive and that the transformer
weighed about 1600lbs. containing mineral spirits. Police did arrive finding the driver out of the vehicle covered in oil, moving wires and
trying to remove the transformer from the vehicle.

Voorhees Pediatrics Evacuated

The date 7/7/07 would prove to be an unlucky one for the Voorhees Fire District. Shortly before 12:00 noon Voorhees BLS Unit 6687 and
ALS unit 41 were dispatched to The Voorhees Pediatrics Facility 1304 Laurel Oak Rd. Upon arrival crews found three patients reported
to be unconscious. Initial BLS and ALS requested more EMS units and the Fire Department for assistance. Battalion 662 (Lauletta)
arrived on scene and met with BLS crews reporting that there was possibly an odor or something in the building causing illnesses to
several people. Battalion 662 (Lauletta) then requested HAZMAT 13 to the scene. BLS Supervisor (Woods) called for an EMS Task
Force due to a complete evacuation of the building. Fire and EMS crews assisted in evacuating the building along with Voorhees
Pediatric staff. Over 100 patients were evacuated to the Eastern Regional High School across the street. BLS, ALS and Pediatrics staff
evaluated all the patients while the evacuation was in effect. Due to the amount of equipment with the patients I.E. (Monitors, Vents, IV
Pumps) extra power sources were requested bringing Rescue units from several surrounding towns for their generators. At around 2pm
HAZMAT 13 and County HAZMAT officials were unable to locate the source and gave the all clear to move all the patients back into the
building. Firefighters, EMS and Pediatrics staff then moved all the patients back into the building. All Emergency personnel and Voorhees
Pediatric staff are commended for a job well done.

Investigate smoke turns into a vehicle

Early Monday morning on June 4, Companies were dispatched to investigate smoke at the Echelon Mall. County Communications had 2
callers reported seeing smoke in the area of the Macy's parking lot. 66201 arrived on location with a fully involved vehicle. Squad 662 led
off with their 1 3/4 inch bumper line to extinguish the fire. 6620 special called the county fire marshal to the scene.

MVA Rescue Assignment

On Thursday June 7, 2007 at 1705 hours, Squad 662, Rescue 663, BLS 668, and ALS 41 were dispatched to Laurel Rd. in front of the
Boscovs Department store for a reported MVA/Rescue assignment. BLS 6687, ALS 41, and Deputy 662 (McCloskey) quickly arrived on
location confirming one victim involved in a t-bone collision with intrusion to the drivers door requiring a door pop. BLS 6687 and ALS 41
assessed the patient to only have minor injuries and ALS 41 was released. Squad 662 arrived and went into service with the Hurst
spreaders and O-Cutters. Rescue 663 arrived and assisted with the extrication and removal of the patient from the vehicle. BLS
transported the patient to a local hospital with minor injuries. The accident is under investigation with the Voorhees Twp. Police
Department. The Squad and Rescue Companies cleared shortly after.

Rescue 663 on Task Force D assignment to cover Northern end of Camden County

On July 3, 2007 at 0445 hours Task Force D was dispatched to relocate to Collingswood Station 16-1 to cover the Northern end of the
county. Camden City was operating at two working fires. The first was a row of seven, 3 story dwellings at 4th and Vine Streets that went
to 4 alarms the fire started around 0300 hours, bringing mutual aid companies from surrounding towns. Command placed the fire under
control at 0500 hours keeping all companies on scene for overhaul. Two Firefighters received minor injuries fighting the fire. The second
fire was at 826 North 4th Street in a 2 story middle of the row, mutual aid companies arrived on location with fire in the rear of the
dwelling. Initial reports were that people were trapped, companies operating on scene made searches that were proved negative. At
0503 hours all visible fire was knocked down and the fire was placed under control. Companies remained on location for overhaul. Task
Force D was no longer needed and released at 0533 hours. Both fires are under investigation with the Camden City and Camden County
Fire Marshals Office.

Burning Smell Turns into Investigation in The Beagle Club

On Friday the 13th 2007 Task Force 663 was dispatched to 41 Callison La. For a reported dwelling fire. Upon arrival of Battalion 663
(Herman) it was reported to be that the resident smelled something burning in the laundry room area. Squad 662 and Quint 663 arrived
and investigated. With nothing in evidence, Battalion 663 (Herman) issued a recall of the Task Force with the exception of Squad 662 and
Quint 663. Crews were unable to find the source, but did find that the dryer vent had a significant amount of lint build-up. The resident
stated that they just had the lint cleaned out by a professional within the past three months, and that they would be getting it cleaned out
again. Crews cleared the scene shortly after.

Action packed night in Alluvium

On July 14th 2007 around 2330 hours Crews were sitting out front of the station as usual when 5 Voorhees Township Patrol cars passed by
in an unusual manner. It was reported that there was going to be a fight on Eastwood Dr. the caller reported several individuals, one with an
axe, and another with a golf club. Police arrived and advised dispatch that everything was code 4 meaning (everything is ok). Shortly after
the reported fight one of the officers stopped by for some community policing at the station, and not even 5 minutes later dispatch was
reporting a vehicle that went down Silver Hill La. and continued into the swamp. Seven Volunteers responded with Rescue 663 and Engine
663. Squad 662, BLS 669 and ALS 41 were also dispatched. Police arrived on location first reporting a vehicle off the roadway and into a
tree with no injuries. Rescue 663 and Battalion 663 (Herman) arrived and reported the same, recalling BLS, ALS, and Squad 662. Crews
utilizing chain saws removed the top of the tree that had snapped and fallen on top of the car. Crews then remained on scene to assist with
lighting for removal of the vehicle from the wooded area. After the wrecker tried pulling the vehicle out moving it about a foot, Rescue 663's
winch was placed into service with no results also. After some tow truck acrobatics (popping some wheelies) and actually lifting the car up
and out of the woods with the bed of the truck, the vehicle was removed from the wooded area and crews were able to take up and clear
the scene. The uninjured driver stated that he was on his way to pick his parents up from the airport, and did not know the roadway ended
like it did.

Voorhees Volunteers Make a Quick Knock Down

On Friday, July 20th around 0100hrs, Task Force 663 was dispatched to  4 Kimberly court for a reported dwelling fire. BLS 6697 and
66301 (Deputy Chief Nagle) arrived on location confirming a working bedroom fire with heavy smoke throughout the dwelling.   Quint 663
arrived shortly there after and stretched their 1 3/4 hose line to the second floor to begin attacking the fire.  Gibbsboro's engine 6811
subsequently arrived on location and stretched a second 1 3/4 hose line to backup the initial attack team.  West Berlin's Rescue 22 was
designated as the RIT Team while Ladder 662 ventilated the building. Rescue 663 and Gibbsboro's engine 6812 were also on location
assisting the crews. Quint 663's crew made a quick knockdown of the fire and damage to the structure was kept to a minimum. No injuries
were reported and the fire is currently under investigation.

Busy Sunday Afternoon for the Voorhees Volunteers

Sunday July 29th was a busy day for the Voorhees Volunteers as thunderstorms rolled through South Jersey. Around 1300 hours, Stations
663 and 662 were dispatched to 8 Gettysburg Lane for a tree that fell through the roof of a dwelling. While In route, Camden county
communications advised that they had several other incidental calls throughout District 66. Quint 663 responded to the downed tree while
Engine 663, Ladder 662, and Squad 662 handled the numerous minor incidents throughout the town. The tree caused significant damage
to the structure and the residence was deemed uninhabitable. The homeowners are staying with family while repairs are being made to
their home.

Wharton State  Forest Fire  reeks havoc throughout Camden County.

On Saturday, August 4th, around 1800 hours: Quint 663, Brush 663, and Squad 662 were dispatched for numerous calls of smoke in the
area of the Sturbridge Estates Development.  Simultaneously, surrounding fire companies were also being inundated with similar calls
from concerned residents. While en route, Brush 663 and Quint 663 observed a visible haze throughout the area.  After an extensive
search of  several neighborhoods, the investigation yielded negative results and the smoky haze dissipated. The cause of the smoke was a
raging forest fire several miles away within the Wharton State Forest .  No other ill effects of the forest fire were felt within Voorhees

Sunday Morning proved to be a Buzz of activity for the Voorhees Volunteers

On Sunday, August 5th, around 0400 hours, BLS 6697 was dispatched for a motor vehicle in the Sturbridge Woods development of
Voorhees Township .  The driver of the vehicle lost control of their car and knocked over several mailboxes in addition to a light post.  Upon
the BLS unit's arrival they encountered a patient with minor injuries and began packaging the patient for transport to the hospital. To the
EMT's surprise, the light post had knocked over a bee hive and a swarm of angry bees had made their way into the back of the BLS unit.
BLS 6687 and Quint 663 were subsequently dispatched to assist at the incident. BLS 6687 transported the victim to Virtua Voorhees
Hospital and the crew from Quint 663 assisted in the removal of the bees utilizing a CO2 extinguisher. No additional injuries were reported

Early Morning Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

On Monday, August 6th, around 0200 hours, Camden County Communications received a call for a medical emergency that was described
as a “wrist fractures” in the area of Kresson Lake on Route 73 and Kresson Roads. Upon the arrival of BLS 6697 and Voorhees Police, the
call was upgraded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Rescue companies along with ALS Medic 41 were dispatched. Rescue
663 and Squad 662 responded to the scene to assist in the removal of the patient. The extrication was completed within 15 minutes, and
the patient was packaged and transported to Cooper Trauma Center.The accident was phoned in by a passer-by who saw the car on the
side of the road. It is unknown how long the victim had been entrapped prior to the initial 911 call.  The vehicle had spun off the road and
impacted a tree.  The condition of the patient is unknown at this time, and an accident investigation is pending.
