The Voorhees Fire Department is seeking volunteer firefighters and non-
operational associate members to be part of our team. The Fire District is
apart of a combination department that encompasses both Volunteer and
Career Firefighters. These Firefighters provide Emergency services 24 hours a
day to the residents of Voorhees and surrounding communities. Both the
Volunteer and Career Firefighters are equally certified on local, state and
national levels and are fully trained to respond to all emergencies. The fire
district is 100% covered by volunteers Monday to Friday from the hours of
5pm – 6am in addition to all weekends and holidays. We cover over 57,000
man hours, respond to close to 1,200 Fire calls every year at a cost of 2.66
cents per man-hour. The Volunteer Fire Service saves the taxpayers 37
Billion Dollars every year and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC)
estimates that the Volunteer System saves the Voorhees residents close to 6
million dollars a year. Help us to keep your taxes low by supporting your
